CASTLEHILL DAIRY FARM

Castlehill Dairy Farm is located on the coast of the North Island of New Zealand.   It has been in operation for over 40 years.  The property was passed to Shayle R. Searle in the 1940’s from his grandfather.  And like so many farms in New Zealand it has seen many changes but has always remained within the Searle family.

Originally a sheep station, in the early 1990’s the property was converted  to a dairy farm.  Currently in it’s 18th year, the operation milks approximately 485 cows twice daily in a 42-cup herringbone style shed.

The farm is comprised of over 40 grazing paddocks and a brand new calving shed which, in it’s season debut, was home to the rearing of over 400 calves.

There are two homes on the property, one occupied by the sharemilker and a second home for hired farm staff.   Both houses have undergone recent rennovations and upgrades.

The farm is managed and operated  by Johnny & Cathy Mullin and supervised by Michael Joyce.  Recently Corey and his wife Tracey joined the Castlehill team.

The farm is located in the South Taranaki region of the North Island of New Zealand, an area well know for it’s rolling hills, fertile soil and close knit farming community.
